Born and raised in the tropical island of Okinawa, Japan, Tokio Kuniyoshi is known as a fine arts photographer as well as a commercial and a fashion photographer.

Upon moving to San Francisco, California, in 2002, his love for photography had established itself. With only his passion as his teacher, he started learning the basics by himself and looked everywhere through his finder. That was the beginning of life long love with the images he captured around him.

After spending 4 years in San Francisco Tokio headed east to New York City to seek unknown possibilities and new opportunities. Before long his talent was recognized and he began working with such respected clients as HENNESY, Ray-Ban, WWD Japan, Steven Alan, Manhattan Portage, Bounce Magazine, Unihair and Ollie.

Tokio has a wide range of photographic talent. His portfolio includes his work with magazines, fashion shows, musicians, industry events and personal portraits.

He currently owns his own full-equipped studio, Studio 11, focusing on shooting his fine arts photography.

The philosophy behind Tokio’s photography is to capture the moment by analog and look into the objects differently. He has his own unique way of looking into the world and capturing the way that brings photography to not just a framed scene but also a piece of art.
